Fit in like a local with no worries at all

The transportation in Copenhagen is the classic European style; bikes are the number one form of city travel. You can rent bikes right off the street through a couple different companies. However most of the attractions are accessible by simply walking the cultural streets. In towns like Aalborg or Billund, you will more likely see cars than bikes. Biking is still very doable in the flat conditions, but the cities are more spread apart. Residential areas are generally much farther from the city center. In Denmark, they use Krones for their currency. You can also pay with euros, and debit or credit cards. Be sure to factor in the exchange rate the cost of using your credit/debit cards abroad.

You can go to any city by train and it is a very efficient and low budget way to travel. We flew from Amsterdam to Aalborg, then took a train to Billund, then another train to Copenhagen.

Weather

Weather in Denmark is very moderate throughout the year. The warmest months are June-August. Spring months are the mildest and blossoming with nature. Autumn tends to be pretty cloudy and rainy leading to a chilly winter. Despite the light snowfall, you’ll still find Danes on their bikes any day. During the whole year the temperature reaches around 16℃ and down to 0℃.
