Feel like a kid again and build your dreams come true
The global phenomenon LEGO was invented in the small town of Billund in Denmark. I met one of the original factory workers when we went there and we listened to all of his stories of his history with the creation of LEGO. As a kid I grew up with LEGO in my hands. I loved spending hours creating these masterpieces that I would be so proud of. My Christmas and birthday list every year was LEGO bricks.

Don't let me fool you on this one, this is not only for children. LEGO is for anyone and everyone. At least feel like a kid again as you wander the very first LEGO park in the world. LEGO was actually invented in Denmark to many people’s disbelief. The newly renovated original factory in BIllund still stands today just a few minutes drive from LEGOLAND
The Park
The park itself is mainly focused around the rides and fun. We did a safari ride through the LEGO jungle and a scary haunted house. But I have to say that Miniland will always be my favourite. Here they have miniature replications of many famous attractions around the world. It was really cool to be able to see all the famous landmarks around the world made out of LEGO.
I have to be truthful, the park is certainly geared towards the younger generations, but anyone can still enjoy it. For me and my mom, this was a really fun experience.
LEGO House
If you are even more of a LEGO friend than my mother, you would absolutely love the LEGO
House. Build your heart out and make all of your favourite creations in each of the different areas of the park. Use a simple app to document and save all of your buildings.
There was so many amazing sections to the museum. Car racing, aquarium, 2D art, stop motion, so much. My personal favourite was the car race area. My mom and I made some pretty awesome cars, if I may say so. Then we raced them through tracks and loop the loops. We had a lot of laughs and tears as our cars smashed to pieces after failing to complete the loop-de-loop track. We are certainly not mechanics.
The building itself is shaped like a pile of LEGO bricks and each section is a different colour. The whole roof is also a playground area. Through the foyer, there are so many extravagant structures, completely made out of LEGO. A towering tree with each branch dedicated to a unique scene, people and dogs, plants and fish, so many bricks. It goes over the history of LEGO in an engaging and fun way. A hands-on LEGO museum. At the moment with COVID-19, the environment is obviously not the same. But this is definitely a bucket list location for any family or kid at heart.
Wow! Crazy what a few years can do. The first photo is in California, USA in March 2014. The second picture is in Billund, Denmark in October 2019.
Californian Legoland is quite similar. It is a bigger park, but generally the same variety of attractions. My family has ben once and we really enjoyed it. Again, it is geared towards a younger audience, but with the right mindset, anyone can enjoy Lego.
